Objectives

Our project's main objective is to enhance the skills and active participation of young people through experiential activities that combine sport with environmental sustainability and intercultural exchange. We aim to create a framework that encourages young people to learn practical skills, develop a deep awareness of the environment and become agents of change in their own communities. The project will take place in a 9-day exchange on the beach of Simos in Deer Island, after the feast of the Holy Spirit, and will bring together 7 participants from each country, a team leader and a coordinator. Our team from Greece, why not, has proven its capacity through previous activities such as the Clean Up Marathon with over 15,000 participants, and this experience will be the foundation for the successful implementation of the project. Through the implementation of the project we seek to impart to young people not only theoretical knowledge, but mainly practical skills that they can apply in their daily lives, both as active citizens and as agents of transferring good practices to their local communities. For example, through the interactive seminar on the circular economy, participants will learn how to reduce waste and adopt recycling practices, while in the creative recycling workshop they will have the opportunity to turn waste into artistic and useful objects. In addition, the eco-themed treasure hunt will give young people the opportunity to work in teams to solve problems related to environmental protection, developing teamwork and leadership skills. In addition to actively participating in the activities, young people will also be involved in the evaluation process of the project, enabling them to record their experiences through reflection sessions and online evaluation forms that will result in the Youthpass, which will formally recognise the skills acquired. In this way, we will turn each activity into a learning experience with practical application, and participants will be able to use this recognition to enrich their profile in the future. Dissemination of the project results is another key objective. Our aim is for participants to act as multipliers of good practice and to promote the results of the exchange to local, national and European communities. This will be achieved through public events, training seminars and online campaigns on social networks, showcasing life experiences and successful actions such as eco-team competitions and creative recycling workshops. Participants will also create digital content - videos, photos and information materials - to be distributed through platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, making the project visible to a wide audience. Overall, our project seeks to empower young people, equip them with practical skills and turn them into active citizens who promote sustainability and intercultural cooperation in their communities. By implementing an integrated programme combining sports activities, environmental workshops and online communication, we will create a platform where young people can learn, evaluate their progress and pass on their experiences, thus creating long-term impact and laying the foundations for future initiatives that will promote ecological awareness and social cohesion.
