Our aim is to bring together young people from different European "edges" - countries that do not often communicate with each other due to distance or difficult circumstances - and to show through experiential activities how strong a bond can develop when we share tradition and music. Our project will be hosted in a traditional village in the rural area of Agios Dimitrios in Laconia, because it is a location that often faces a feeling of isolation from the European idea, but at the same time has a rich cultural heritage that acts as a bridge of communication. We therefore want to do three main things through youth exchanges: Firstly, to strengthen European identity and values among young people, showing that, beyond borders and differences, there are common elements that unite us. The aim is to offer experiential learning experiences, such as highlighting the role of each country in the European Union, so that everyone can understand, for example, how living in a remote place can teach us the importance of solidarity and cultural diversity. With activities such as the Intercultural World Café or the training seminar on the institutions of the European Union, young people will combine theory with practice, discussing on a daily basis how EU values are expressed in the local context. Secondly, to encourage young people's own participation and initiative, emphasising activities that allow them to actively share roles and responsibilities. In this way, they will not just be observers, but will contribute to the planning and implementation of actions. For example, in dance classes dedicated to rhythms such as Kalamatian or Flamenco, the participants themselves will work with professional teachers to prepare small demonstration groups and teach each other basic steps, developing leadership and team-building skills. Third, to highlight how tradition and local cultures can be combined with innovative tools. We plan, for example, to create four songs using AI technology, each inspired by the rhythms of a different country, so that young people understand that innovation can be organically married to cultural heritage. This concept is based on non-formal education: participants will experiment with digital applications, write lyrics in their own language and collaborate with others from other cultural traditions. In this way, we highlight the creative side of European cooperation, which can produce something together while celebrating diversity. Through this exchange, we seek the following results for young people: - Recognition of the common elements that unite us as Europeans and at the same time enrichment from the uniqueness of each tradition. - Strengthening their participation as active citizens: in a remote area, they see first-hand how the local community lives the European idea, and realise that they themselves can contribute to something bigger. - Gaining skills such as teamwork, leadership, digital creativity, skills they can use in future projects. - Strengthening a culture of respect for diversity, as dances, local cuisine, folk stories and language idioms intersect on a daily basis, giving everyone a voice and a role. At the same time, the village public will benefit, as they will see how even in a rural place international actions can be developed, bringing a sense of "European neighbourhood". Even people who tend to feel cut off from Europe will have the opportunity to actively participate in events and to tell their stories to young people from other countries, discovering possible similarities in their traditions. Ultimately, our aim is to bring together all these different aspects - music, dance, experiential workshops - to create an experience that actively demonstrates that tradition is not static, but alive and able to unite young people from different "ends" of Europe. All this interaction will be built on principles of non-formal learning and will give participants the opportunity to lead, learn and see in practice how European cooperation is not a theoretical concept, but a dynamic reality that can offer solutions to common challenges and inspire new forms of creativity. In other words, we want to demonstrate that European identity, when united with local tradition and youth initiative, creates the foundations for a bond-building experience and confirms that diversity and remote geographical location are not a barrier but a source of wealth and cooperation.
