Objectives

With "Connecting Cultures, Shaping Tomorrow," we want to create a space where young people learn by doing, connect with each other, and develop skills that empower them even after this project. The project is designed through a youth work approach, meaning that learning happens through participation, teamwork, creativity, and real-life experiences, rather than through formal education. Youth work is all about providing young people with the tools, confidence, and space to explore their potential, and that’s exactly what we aim to do with this project. Through non-formal education methods, intercultural collaboration, and creative expression, participants will not only learn about sustainability, inclusion, and cultural diversity—but actually experience what these values mean in practice. Our objectives, rooted in youth work practices, are: -Making sustainability an active experience. Instead of just learning about environmental issues in theory, participants will be engaged in hands-on sustainability workshops, such as creating musical instruments from recycled and natural materials. This method follows the youth work principle of experiential learning, where young people internalize concepts by actively engaging with them. By the end of the project, participants will have practical knowledge of how sustainability connects to creativity, and how small actions can lead to bigger change. -Creating an inclusive youth space where diversity is celebrated. Inclusion isn’t just about having diverse participants—it’s about ensuring that every young person, regardless of ability, background, or experience, feels fully part of the group. The project will follow inclusive youth work practices by making sure that activities are adapted to all needs, encouraging peer support, and using creative methods that allow everyone to contribute in their own way. Participants will learn about inclusion by practicing it—working side by side with peers who face different challenges, exchanging perspectives, and building a truly collaborative and welcoming environment. -Strengthening intercultural competence through real-life collaboration. Youth work focuses on helping young people develop intercultural skills that will help them in life, work, and society. This project follows that approach by bringing together young people from five different countries, encouraging them to work in international teams, share cultural perspectives, and break down stereotypes. Instead of simply discussing cultural diversity, they will experience it firsthand—by co-leading activities, sharing traditions, and working towards a common goal. -Building essential life skills through non-formal education. One of the core values of youth work is developing young people’s personal and professional competences through active participation. This project will help participants develop teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills by involving them in every step of the exchange—from planning and implementation to follow-up activities. Youth leaders will mentor participants, but young people will take the lead in activities, ensuring learning happens in a way that is empowering and youth-driven. -Encouraging active youth participation and leadership. A key principle of youth work is ensuring that young people take initiative, shape their own learning experiences, and feel responsible for the success of the activities they take part in. In this project, participants won’t just be attendees—they will be co-creators, responsible for designing and leading workshops, organizing cultural sessions, and managing parts of the exchange. This hands-on involvement will build their confidence and encourage them to take an active role in their communities after the project ends. "Connecting Cultures, Shaping Tomorrow," is youth-led, participatory, and based on real engagement—all of which are fundamental principles of youth work and by its end participants won’t just leave with new knowledge and skills, but also with a stronger sense of confidence, belonging, and motivation to engage in youth work and Erasmus+ opportunities in the future.
