Objectives

The primary goal of our project is to harness the power of sports, particularly street football, to address key challenges in social inclusion, intercultural understanding, and youth empowerment. Through this project, we aim to provide young people, especially those facing fewer opportunities, with the skills and experiences needed to become active, engaged citizens in their communities. Below are the specific objectives of our project from the perspective of youth work practice: 1. To Promote Equal Opportunities and Social Inclusion Through Sports: We aim to use sports as a powerful tool to break down barriers and promote social inclusion among young people from diverse backgrounds. By creating an inclusive environment where everyone has the chance to participate, we seek to foster equal opportunities for all, regardless of their socioeconomic status, cultural background, or personal challenges. This objective aligns with the broader goals of youth work, which emphasizes inclusivity and equal access to opportunities for personal and social development. 2. To Develop Intercultural Competences and Foster Understanding Between Different Cultures: The project is designed to enhance participants' intercultural competencies by providing them with opportunities to interact with peers from various cultural backgrounds. Through structured activities, discussions, and collaborative tasks, participants will learn to appreciate and navigate cultural differences, fostering mutual understanding and respect. This objective is crucial in today’s increasingly globalized world, where intercultural understanding is key to peaceful coexistence and collaboration. 3. To Enhance Participants' Skills in Communication, Teamwork, and Conflict Resolution: One of the core aims of the project is to equip participants with essential life skills, including effective communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution. These skills are developed through hands-on activities such as sports games, group discussions, and reflection sessions. By focusing on these areas, we ensure that participants are better prepared to handle challenges in both their personal and professional lives, making them more competent and confident individuals. 4. To Empower Young People to Become Active Promoters of Fair Play, Tolerance, and Diversity: We aim to inspire and empower participants to become advocates for fair play, tolerance, and diversity within their own communities. By engaging in activities that emphasize ethical values and social responsibility, participants will not only embody these principles during the project but will also be encouraged to promote them in their everyday lives. This empowerment is a key aspect of youth work, which seeks to develop young people into active, responsible citizens. 5. To Encourage Participants to Apply What They Have Learned in Their Own Communities: The project is designed with the intention of having a lasting impact beyond the immediate participants. We encourage participants to take the knowledge, skills, and values they have gained and apply them within their own communities. This could involve organizing local sports events, leading workshops, or advocating for social inclusion and diversity. By doing so, participants help to extend the reach of the project’s impact, fostering positive change in their local environments. In Summary, the project aims to empower young people through sports, promoting social inclusion, intercultural understanding, and the development of essential life skills. By focusing on equal opportunities, effective communication, teamwork, and the promotion of fair play and tolerance, the project not only benefits the participants but also encourages them to become change-makers in their communities. These objectives are closely aligned with the principles of youth work, which seeks to support the holistic development of young people and their active participation in society.
