The DigiSENT project is a response to the urgent need for youth workers across Europe, especially those in rural areas, to develop stronger digital skills and foster social entrepreneurship in their communities. This project aims to bridge that gap by providing to youth workers the necessary tools to navigate the digital world effectively and create innovative, impactful initiatives that empower young people. Digital skills are no longer optional, they are essential for engaging young people, running projects efficiently, and expanding the reach of youth work. One of our main goals is to enhance the digital literacy of youth workers by providing them with hands-on training in digital communication, project management tools, and social media strategies. We want to provide step-by-step guidance on using digital tools (e.g., Actionbound for interactive learning, Padlet for online collaboration, Canva for visual content creation). Youth workers will be trained in AI-assisted learning strategies and will develop digital outreach plans that can be applied in their own communities. Beyond digital skills, DigiSENT focuses on promoting social entrepreneurship. Participants will gain expertise in social entrepreneurship by using the Lean Canvas methodology to develop impactful project ideas and strategies. We truly believe that youth workers can inspire young people to take action in their own communities, to identify social challenges, and to create solutions that lead to real change. We want to offer a structured curriculum that covers business model development, social impact storytelling, and grant writing. By the end of the training, participants will be expected to draft and pitch one social entrepreneurship initiative using these tools, ensuring practical application. Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. A truly impactful youth project must ensure that every young person, regardless of their background, feels seen, heard, and valued. In DigiSENT, we emphasize building inclusive learning environments where youth workers can explore topics like discrimination, online hate speech, and social inclusion. Through gamification, storytelling, participatory workshops, and team-building activities, participants will feel safe to express themselves and to bring these values back to their own youth work practices. Additionally, the project emphasizes the importance of connecting participants with local organizations and stakeholders. By learning to leverage local resources and expertise, youth workers can enhance the effectiveness of their initiatives and ensure that their projects resonate with the specific needs of their communities. This connection aims to create a supportive ecosystem where youth workers can thrive, facilitating collaboration between various stakeholders involved in youth work. This project is not just about a single training, it’s about long-term impact and change. The project highlights the necessity of follow-up national activities in participants' communities after the training concludes. By encouraging youth workers to apply their newly acquired skills and workshops they have already implemented and tested in the project, the "DigiSENT" project aims to extend its impact, allowing more young people to engage in social initiatives and foster a sense of community involvement. This sustained engagement will contribute to building resilient communities that can adapt to ongoing social and economic changes. The "DigiSENT" project is committed to equipping youth workers with the tools necessary to drive positive change in their communities. By focusing on digital literacy, social entrepreneurship, inclusivity, and community connections, the project aims to create lasting impacts that empower youth and bridge the digital divide. Through these efforts, the project will not only address immediate needs but also lay the foundation for sustainable development and social cohesion in rural areas. This comprehensive approach is essential for nurturing a generation of informed and engaged young people capable of contributing meaningfully to society.
