Objectives

The project aims to enhance the capacity of youth workers to create more inclusive and supportive environments for LGBTQIA+ youth. A key focus is on deepening their understanding of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIESC) to help them adopt a more inclusive approach in their daily practice. Given their role as key figures in supporting vulnerable young people, the project seeks to equip youth workers with the knowledge and tools necessary to address the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ youth, including discrimination, social exclusion, and mental health issues. The project also aims to provide practical tools and strategies that youth workers can use to combat discrimination and foster acceptance. By building their confidence in handling issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity, the project ensures that youth workers are better prepared to guide LGBTQIA+ youth towards safer, more inclusive networks and support systems. This will ultimately contribute to the well-being and inclusion of young people within their communities. In a broader context, the project envisions fostering a culture of equality, diversity, and acceptance. By empowering youth workers to become advocates for LGBTQIA+ inclusion, the initiative seeks to create a ripple effect that not only impacts individual organizations but also promotes social change at the community level and across the European Union.
