By implementing this project, we seek to put aside stereotypes or prejudices about the limitations of being older people, while at the same time seeking to promote lifelong learning, facilitating equal opportunities for those people who in their youth were unable to achieve this educational training. The aim is also to get to know and understand new cultures, promoting tolerance, respect and social and international cohesion.
The reason for the project's application stems from the day-to-day interest shown by the students of the Senior University in staying mentally agile and socialising with people with whom they share educational and personal concerns, thus seeking to extend it to an international scope. There is a high demand for participation in all the activities that are programmed, which is well illustrated by the centre's own slogan ‘Passion for learning, new challenges, new perspectives’.
