Objectives

Active Youth, Sustainable Future (AYSF) is a direct investment in the future of our society and the planet. By focusing on training young people in sustainability, it not only gives them tools to be responsible citizens, but turns them into agents of change capable of inspiring others. Environmental education is an essential pillar to reversing the effects of climate change and stopping the degradation of ecosystems. The project seeks to empower participants to make informed and sustainable decisions, teaching them practices that not only improve their daily lives, but also have a positive impact on their local communities. By promoting a cultural exchange, the benefits are multiplied: young people will learn from real experiences in other contexts, sharing knowledge and good environmental practices that they can replicate in their own communities. In the long term, these collective actions have the potential to generate a chain of impacts that transcend the direct participants, reaching their families, social circles and, eventually, contributing to a cleaner, safer and healthier world. At a time when the climate crisis demands urgent solutions, AYSF brings hope, action and tangible change. All the natural disasters that have happened lately (DANA in Valencia, earthquake in Turkey and Tibet, fires in the USA, etc.) are being the biggest push to wake up once again and think about our planet and how we can all participate in saving it. The team of partners of this project think that we can all do a small part to contribute to saving it. It is something that requires the cooperation of all nations and all citizens. No authority can solve it alone. It requires the participation of everyone. It can be really difficult to know where to start when it comes to fighting climate change and saying yes to sustainable practices, but every little contribution helps. The problem is so vast that it can be really confusing to understand, especially for young people. Also, the scale of the problems can seem overwhelming, while individual efforts almost seem too small to count. Regardless of who we are, where we live and what we do, we all have a moral obligation to each other, our future generations and other species, to take care of the planet. Our current decisions and actions have enormous long-term impacts on future generations and the environment. Practicing sustainability ensures that we make ethical decisions that provide a safe and habitable future for everyone, as well as for the animals and plants with which we coexist. If we deplete the Earth's resources, future generations will suffer, especially their quality of life (we are already suffering these consequences), which is why we see the need and obligation to carry out projects related to sustainability, in which we train, raise awareness and give skills related to the subject to the young people of today, who will be the drivers of change of tomorrow, a key piece for the much-needed environmental change on our planet. Sustainable actions help make a real difference in society. Being committed to sustainability will reduce your carbon footprint and the amount of toxins released into the environment, making it safer and more livable. When we focus on sustainability, the entire world benefits and can live in cleaner and healthier living conditions. Fortunately, by making many simple choices, one can make their life more stable and even enjoyable. Based on this, the objectives of this project are: - To make young people aware of: the importance of making sustainable and environmentally friendly choices and the environmental problems we face - To try to make sustainable choices their priority - To exchange ideas on which sustainable practices to use and how, in order to then promote them among their local communities - To involve and include young people with fewer opportunities, in order to reduce their risk of social exclusion And of course, in addition to all the thematic skills, to learn about the culture of the participants involved in the project, sharing: - Environmental and sustainable practices they have in their local communities - Good practices to participate in the implementation of sustainable practices in their communities. At a time when the world needs fast and effective solutions, this project stands out for its ability to unite education, action and international collaboration, demonstrating that change is possible if we all contribute our effort.
