In recent years, the issue of mental health has been increasingly exposed within society, echoing through the media, schools, and other public bodies. The arrival of COVID 19 in 2020 was a turning point in the lives of many people, especially young people in different European countries. Many of them were already living in a somewhat difficult situation, as living conditions for young people today are not the most adequate. Difficulties in emancipation, finding a job with a decent salary, finding housing, or even mental health problems were already negative factors to deal with in their daily lives. Within the general core of young people, it must be taken into account that an important part of them are dedicated to the care sector, either in jobs in the health sector (such as nursing, medicine, physiotherapy, psychology...), or in the field of assistance and accompaniment of the elderly, for example. These young people have suffered most severely from the damage of the situation brought about by COVID 19, as they were on the front line of the battle during this negative period of our present. Several studies carried out in the public and private health system show that between 35% and 50% of health professionals have considered leaving their jobs after the situation we have experienced in recent years. These data, together with a shortage of healthcare personnel, and a shortage of care that is delayed in time, due to a shortage of staff and resources, represent a major current problem that should be resolved as soon as possible in the near future. This whole situation is unsustainable in the long term unless a number of changes are made. For this reason, we wanted to develop this project focusing on young people working in the field of health and assitance, in order to prevent them from abandoning the profession and to reduce the time spent on sick leave due to mental health problems, which are becoming more and more incipient every day. The general objective of the project is to train young health workers in the resources and tools necessary for them to manage their personal and work reality, that is, to offer them a series of activities aimed at learning about the importance of healthy habits in their daily routine, the negative effects of stress, and other psychological alterations derived from it. Through different workshops, participants will learn about the importance of a healthy and balanced diet, effective sleep hygiene, the importance of contact with nature and natural environments, and the need to stay active by taking exercise or any other type of physical activity, in order to avoid a sedentary lifestyle and the problems derived from it, of which there are many. We also want to provide them with tools to deal with their work environment, which is often a major source of stress, and which ends up crossing the boundary between work and personal life, with the latter being negatively affected. Dealing with colleagues, bosses, patients, the environment, complicated situations... are a daily source of problems for the self-esteem, empathy and energy of healthcare professionals. It is not always easy to work with people, especially when they are in unfavourable situations. To try to tackle these problems, the young participants will discuss and try to find the best strategies to isolate their work life from their personal life, to be empathetic without altering their mental health, and to improve their way of communicating, as language and communication is one of the most powerful and effective tools for the world in general, and dealing with people specifically. Finally, with the implementation of this project, we hope to obtain better trained health professionals, psychologically stronger, and capable of facing their day-to-day work in the health field, reducing sick leave and abandonment of the profession. With all this we hope to improve patient care, delay waiting lists, and, in general, create a harmonious and more balanced environment where professionals and patients can work in a consensual way towards a common goal: the wellbeing of all
