The "Youth 4Peace" project is born out of a firm belief in the importance of promoting peace, democracy and conflict prevention in Europe and around the world. We recognise the current worrying challenges facing our society, such as political polarisation, the rise of xenophobia and intolerance, as well as the persistence of conflicts in various regions of the world. We therefore wish to address these problems and needs through a proactive and collaborative approach. Our project aims primarily to promote intercultural understanding, active citizenship and conflict resolution skills among the young participants. We recognise that open dialogue and the exchange of ideas are fundamental to building a more peaceful and democratic world. Furthermore, we strive to reflect on past mistakes and learn important lessons from history to prevent future conflicts. By empowering young people to be agents of change in their communities, we hope to build strong networks of support and collaboration that transcend national borders. We believe that by working together, we can build a more just, inclusive and peaceful future for generations to come. In short, our project seeks to address issues of intolerance, polarisation and conflict by promoting intercultural understanding, active citizenship and conflict resolution skills among young Europeans. We want to build bridges of dialogue and collaboration that will lead us towards a more peaceful, democratic and united world. Objectives: To encourage dialogue between young people from different countries to promote mutual understanding and empathy. To analyse the benefits of peace in Europe and around the world, as well as the consequences of conflict. To train participants to be agents of change in promoting peace and democracy in their communities. To provide tools and strategies to prevent and resolve conflicts peacefully. To reflect on past mistakes, to analyse historical mistakes that have led to conflicts and wars in Europe and the world, in order to learn lessons and prevent their repetition in the future. Establish lasting connections between participants to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas even after the exchange. To create a multicultural network of students and young professionals and improve their intercultural communication skills through team building activities. To give young people the opportunity to travel and participate in the project, regardless of their economic and social background. To increase cooperation with other organisations active in the fields of education, training and youth in order to exchange practices and ideas on the organisation of a mobility project. To improve participants' competence in the English language and their knowledge of Spanish culture and society. To develop participants' sense of European citizenship and identity. This exchange will facilitate the coexistence and joint work of young people from different backgrounds, allowing them to discover and appreciate new cultures and perspectives, enriching their personal experience and fostering an open and global mindset. Through the activities, our project will, through exchange, use non-formal learning methods to educate participants about the importance of peace, democracy and conflict resolution in an intercultural environment. The project has a strong personal development component, helping young people to gain confidence, improve their communication skills and work as part of a team. It also focuses on social development, building networks of support and collaboration that can last beyond the exchange.
