The "Fashion for Earth" project aims to tackle the environmental and social challenges posed by the fashion industry, which contributes 10% of global carbon emissions and 20% of wastewater production. By targeting youth, a demographic of 1.2 billion globally, the project seeks to transform them from passive consumers into active leaders and ambassadors for sustainability. Through non-formal education and experiential learning, the initiative will empower young people with the tools, knowledge, and skills needed to advocate for sustainable practices and lead impactful, community-driven initiatives. By fostering intercultural collaboration and teamwork, the project also aligns with EU values of sustainability, active citizenship, and inclusivity. Participants will actively engage in workshops, campaigns, and public events while receiving structured support and mentorship to maximize their personal and professional growth. The project has the following objectives: - Educate youth about the environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry. - Raise awareness about sustainable fashion, ethical consumerism, and EU values of sustainability and social responsibility. - Develop practical skills in upcycling, clothing repair, alteration, and digital tools for promoting sustainability. - Promote sustainable habits like clothing swaps, second-hand shopping, and responsible wardrobe management. - Improve teamwork, communication, and intercultural skills through collaboration in a multicultural setting, supporting Inclusive Societies as one of the EU youth goals. - Enhance digital skills by creating campaigns, blogs, and social media content to promote sustainable fashion and share project results. - Increase knowledge of Erasmus+ opportunities, inspiring participants to step out of their comfort zones and engage in intercultural activities. - Empower youth to become advocates for policy changes that promote sustainability and align with EU values of active citizenship and environmental protection. This approach ensures participants develop life-meaningful skills, adopt sustainable habits, and emerge as informed leaders capable of driving positive change in their communities while aligning with Erasmus+ priorities and fostering long-term impact.
