We want to organize this youth exchange to create a safe and comfortable space for the whole group to express themselves and freely communicate about the activity topics. The group is assembled by 39 individuals from 6 Mediterranean countries, including the 6 group leaders and the 2 facilitators/organizers. 13 out of 31 participants will be young people with fewer opportunities, and the group will be gender balanced (maximum 3 participants from the same gender, 4th can not participate) The 6 countries are Algeria, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, Spain (coordinator), and Tunisia (activity host). The youth exchange will be an excellent opportunity to learn from each other and gain new experiences from the local context, culture, and spectacular natural environment, by the shores of the Sahara desert, that the group will visit one day, through different learning processes that will be participatory, collaborative and interactive, using non-formal and intercultural learning methodologies. The 3 exchange's general objectives are: -To increase awareness about environmental and climate challenges in the 6 participating countries, looking into desertification and water management. -To collectively reflect on these challenges and find possible solutions from a local and Euro-Mediterranean perspective. -To foster Green Thinking and a certain sense of Euro-Mediterranean Green Citizenship. The 4 exchange’s specific objectives are: -To increase awareness about the impact of our actions on the natural environment, focusing on water management and desertification. -To find ways and solutions to prevent desertification and learn how to manage water and other natural resources properly. - To develop cultural expression, resilience, initiative, and creativity inspired by nature. -To encourage participants to promote environmental initiatives and engage other youth to be part of them.
