Objectives

The "Cinema Without Borders" project aims to foster creativity and youth empowerment through cinema and audiovisual production. It seeks to provide young people with the tools to tell their stories, express their ideas, and strengthen their cultural identity in a global context dominated by audiovisual media. Through hands-on learning and experimentation with cinematic language, participants will develop new forms of communication and explore their creativity in a collaborative environment. The initiative focuses on inclusion, ensuring the participation of young people with fewer opportunities and promoting non-formal learning through audiovisual creation workshops, screenings of European and independent films, and critical debates. The project will take place in Spain and will include young participants from Estonia, Greece, and Sweden, thus promoting intercultural cooperation and youth mobility. This diversity of backgrounds will allow participants to share experiences and perspectives, enriching the creative process and strengthening the European dimension of the project. The short films produced will be showcased both locally and on digital platforms, with the possibility of being presented at festivals and other cultural events. These productions will not only serve as a testament to the participants' learning and creativity but will also act as a tool for raising awareness and encouraging reflection in different communities. From a youth work perspective, the project focuses on several key areas. Firstly, it aims to foster creativity and self-expression, allowing young people to develop skills in scriptwriting, filming, and editing short films using non-formal education methodologies. This process will enhance their creative autonomy and self-confidence. Additionally, it seeks to promote European cultural identity and critical thinking through the screening and analysis of European and independent films. Another key pillar of the project is the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, ensuring a minimum quota for those facing economic or geographical disadvantages. To achieve this, logistical and methodological support will be provided to ensure their full participation in all activities. Finally, the project aims to ensure a lasting impact by making sure that the knowledge gained is not limited to the youth exchange but has real applications in the participants' future and their communities. The dissemination of the short films at cultural events and their integration into the regular activities of partner organizations will ensure the sustainability and replicability of the project, fostering new initiatives in the fields of cinema and non-formal education.
