Roots and Resilience is a youth exchange project that will take place in the Axarquia region, a small rural region near Malaga. During 6 days, 20 young people from 4 different European countries will meet to learn and exchange about wellness, nature and environment. The main objective of this project is to improve the physical and mental well-being of young people through nature, thus promoting the importance of taking care of it and connecting with it. Participants will experience its benefits and explore how it can empower them to manage stress and improve their mental health. This will be done through activities that will help them to reflect, clear their minds and focus on their wellbeing, activities such as yoga, breathing techniques and outdoor workshops. Roots and Resilience has as one of its main objectives to develop environmental awareness among participants. Through the connection with nature, participants will admire the environment and recognize the importance of protecting it. With this experience we want participants to take care of their mental health while taking care of the planet. We aim to create a supportive environment in which young people can acquire communication, conflict resolution and teamwork skills. This will allow them not only to improve their relationship with themselves and with others, but also to improve certain soft skills that will be useful in their later job search and professional life. By improving their self-confidence, they will see themselves as more capable of achieving what they want, will find it easier to look for a job and will feel more capable of contributing to change in what they consider most important.
