The global situations that occur, especially the most recent ones, have highlighted the importance of learning needs about sustainability for all of us. Acquiring new sustainable skills that allow us to reduce and contribute positively to our home, the planet, begin to gain new expression and translate into an emerging need. Therefore, through this project, we intend to take something as special as crafts and Upcycling and show our young participants how we can use materials in a responsible and conscious way. This ability to look at materials/objects, more importantly, our roots, allows us to find new opportunities for work, training and socialization, as long as it is used in a positive way. The creativity of younger artisans has been growing and, aware of market challenges, they seek to combine the finest raw materials with new concepts and ways of presenting crafts. With the ability to transform discarded materials into new pieces, we are challenged to think outside the box, experiment with new techniques and explore new design possibilities. From the point of view of the practice of working with young people, our project, “Sustainable crafts: youth empowerment through recycling”, has the following desired objectives: 1. reintroduce traditional arts practices in an innovative, engaging and creative way in working with young people; 2. promote the sustainability approach, emphasizing the role of artisanal activities as a historical legacy and promoters of future sustainable awareness; 3. promote the diversification of methods, making involvement with young people more creative and impactful, allowing creativity to be exercised in a more stimulating way; 4. provide comprehensive support for young entrepreneurs and nomads, including idea development, financial planning and project communication; 5. reinforce support for young entrepreneurs and nomads; 6. cultivate intercultural awareness; 7. promote intercultural competence among youth workers through international collaboration and interaction; 8. facilitate knowledge sharing and networking between young people from different countries, creating an international support network; 9. instill a mindset of empowerment in young people, emphasizing the importance of facilitating the creation of youth projects and encouraging their active participation in their communities. The work will be approached from a perspective that empowers and encourages young people to take initiative and make positive contributions.
