Objectives

The main objective of this project is to provide young people with a transformative experience that combines artistic learning, personal growth, and civic education. Through stilt walking in the context of social circus, a technique that connects participants with the arts in a quick and meaningful way, we hope that each young person will develop confidence in their abilities while exploring a creative and expressive universe. The proposal is to create an experience that goes beyond the development of practical skills, promoting values such as resilience, cooperation, and empathy, fundamental to their formation as transformative agents in their communities. To develop the project we have an interdisciplinary approach integrating art, education, and citizenship. By building their own stilts, designing costumes, and participating in technical training, young people improve their manual and artistic skills but also strengthen teamwork and a sense of personal achievement. From conception to presentation, this complete cycle seeks to stimulate creativity and form more confident and committed individuals. In the practice of youth work, the project also promotes reflection and cultural exchange, encouraging the construction of active and conscious citizenship. During the workshops and the final community parade, participants experience the importance of collaboration and diversity, recognizing the impact of the arts on social transformation. This experience not only broadens horizons but also creates a lasting legacy, in which collective memory and shared values drive young people to lead initiatives that promote a more inclusive and sustainable future. The effects of the project go beyond the time of its implementation. The proposed activities, such as walking on stilts, create lasting bonds between participants and foster the vision of the social circus as a space for continuous learning. The challenges overcome as a group and the shared achievements leave a collective mark, strengthening the feeling of belonging and encouraging participation in future community actions. This legacy reaffirms the capacity of circus arts to promote lasting personal and social transformation.
