Objectives

The project "The Art of Connecting" aims to address the critical challenges faced by European youth in an increasingly globalized, digitalized world marked by crises such as the pandemic, armed conflicts, and climate disasters. These challenges include social isolation, anxiety, stress, dependence on social media, and the lack of safe spaces for personal expression and meaningful interaction. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mental disorders such as anxiety and depression affect millions of people, and the excessive use of social media has exacerbated issues like loneliness and low self-esteem. In this context, the project's main goal is to use art as a transformative tool to improve the mental, emotional, and social well-being of young people, fostering self-confidence, group cohesion, and intercultural understanding. The specific objectives of the project include strengthening real connections among young people by promoting face-to-face interactions and communication skills through artistic and group dynamics. Additionally, it seeks to promote personal and emotional development by using art to enhance self-esteem, emotional intelligence, and stress management. The project also aims to incorporate creativity as a tool for change, helping young people adapt to changing situations, solve problems, and manage their mental well-being. Another key objective is to boost intercultural awareness, fostering respect and understanding toward other cultures and traditions, and highlighting diversity as a strength. Finally, the project aims to reduce dependence on social media and develop key competencies such as multilingual communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution. "The Art of Connecting" aspires to empower young people as active agents in building a more inclusive, supportive, and resilient Europe. By promoting creativity, empathy, and intercultural collaboration, the project not only addresses the current challenges faced by youth but also contributes to shaping a generation capable of tackling global challenges and building a cohesive and sustainable society. Through art, we aim to create a space where young people can grow as individuals, connect better with others, and manage their emotions effectively, thereby strengthening their sense of belonging and their ability to contribute positively to their environment.
