Objectives

The main objective of the project ‘Art as a cultural bridge’ is to address youth mental health and cultural preservation in an innovative way by using music therapy as a tool to promote emotional well-being and strengthen the cultural identity of the young participants. Through this project, it seeks to achieve several key objectives: Promote mental wellbeing: Use music therapy to provide young people with practical tools to manage stress, anxiety and other emotional challenges. Music therapy will enable participants to express and process emotions in a safe and culturally enriched environment, helping to reduce the stigma associated with mental health problems and promoting a culture of mutual support. Preserve and promote traditional cultural practices: Facilitate the reconnection of young people with their cultural roots by exploring and learning about musical traditions and folk dances from their countries. By integrating these cultural practices into the music therapy sessions, the aim is to strengthen young people's cultural identity and provide them with a solid foundation for dealing with emotional challenges. Foster cultural exchange and European citizenship: To create an inclusive space where young people from Bulgaria, Italy and Spain can share their cultural practices, promote diversity and develop a sense of belonging to a diverse and united European community. The project also aims to raise participants' awareness of the common challenges they face in terms of mental health, thus fostering empathy, solidarity and mutual respect among them. Developing key competences in young people: Through collaborative activities, the project focuses on strengthening skills such as intercultural communication, teamwork, creativity, emotional resilience and emotional intelligence. These competences are essential for the personal and professional development of young people and contribute to their integration and active participation in society.
