Objectives

"The Art of Storytelling" is a seven-day training course designed to provide youth workers from eleven European organizations with practical tools to integrate storytelling, cultural heritage, and nature-based education into their work with young people. In a context where the increasing use of the internet, especially among young people, has transformed our relationship with roots and identity, this project aims to adapt educational approaches to foster cultural preservation, strengthen the sense of belonging, and promote respect for the environment. The training will create a space for exchange where participants can share and develop skills to work more effectively with youth communities. Additionally, "The Art of Storytelling" includes a dissemination plan to replicate and expand good practices across the eleven participating countries. From the perspective of youth work, the project’s objectives are: - Strengthening personal and cultural identity. In a digital environment where cultural boundaries become blurred, storytelling emerges as a key tool. Youth workers will be able to connect with their cultural heritage and understand how traditional stories reflect the relationship between communities and their surroundings. - Encouraging a creative and participatory learning approach. Storytelling, as an educational methodology, promotes active youth participation. "The Art of Storytelling" will enable youth workers to apply innovative and participatory approaches in their work, enhancing skills such as critical thinking, reflection, and self-expression. - Integrating nature into the educational process. More than just a physical space, nature is an essential element in shaping cultural and personal identity. Through outdoor activities in Tenerife, the project fosters a learning experience based on direct connection with the natural environment, promoting ecological awareness and the overall well-being of participants. - Empowering youth workers with tools adapted to their local contexts. Since each youth community faces different realities, "The Art of Storytelling" will provide flexible and practical tools that can be applied in various settings, improving the effectiveness of their work with young people. - Fostering mutual understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. In a globalized world, the project uses storytelling to promote respect and inclusion, encouraging mutual understanding between different cultures. - Promoting networking and collaboration among organizations. In addition to training, "The Art of Storytelling" aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas, experiences, and best practices among youth organizations, strengthening European-level networking and laying the groundwork for future joint projects. The non-formal learning approach seeks to enhance the educational and professional development of youth workers and leaders. The goal is to generate a positive impact on their daily work, fostering the personal and social growth of young people and contributing to the well-being of society as a whole.
