Objectives

The main goal of our project is to empower youth workers to become change agents who motivate young people to become active ambassadors of science and sustainability. We aim for these young people to take action in their communities to address issues that affect both locally and globally. We want to contribute to the creation of a sustainable and bright future for all, where young people are equipped with the necessary tools to promote sustainability and critical thinking, using science as a universal language for understanding and development. One of the core aspects of the project is bringing science closer to young people by breaking down the elitist barriers surrounding scientific knowledge and fostering a more inclusive and accessible vision. Through Citizen Science projects, young people will have the opportunity to actively participate in the collection and analysis of scientific data, creating a direct link between society and the scientific world. This will help reduce misinformation, conspiracy theories, and fake news, which particularly affect young people, who are frequent users of social media, promoting an environment of critical and reflective thinking. Thanks to this direct action and participation in Citizen Science, we will use this methodology as a key tool to strengthen analytical and critical thinking. These skills will serve as the foundation for one of the main objectives of the project: the fight against digital disinformation. During these sessions, we will provide a detailed explanation of the origin of conspiracy theories, how they spread, how to identify them, and, most importantly, how to combat them. We believe that this issue is becoming increasingly relevant in our society, as disinformation often leads to radical political positions that go against the fundamental values of the European Union. Moreover, young people who are more exposed to the digital world and have lower educational levels are particularly vulnerable to these fallacies, making it even more urgent to address this issue. Additionally, we seek to develop professional skills and innovative methodologies for youth workers so they can apply this knowledge in their daily work with young people. This includes using non-formal learning methodologies such as gamification, peer learning, the use of digital platforms, and experiential learning, among others. By promoting the Erasmus+ program, we want participants to learn new ways of working, enhancing their skills to face the challenges of today's youth. Regarding the intercultural dimension, our project will promote understanding and respect among young people from different cultural backgrounds. We will foster a collaborative learning environment where young people will work together, sharing ideas and developing a sense of global citizenship that will prepare them to become leaders in sustainability and innovation. By bringing together youth workers and leaders from different countries and cultures, we aim to strengthen international partnerships, creating a network of organizations committed to promoting critical thinking, sustainability, and environmental awareness. The project also aims to boost the active participation of young people in decision-making processes, especially on technological and environmental issues that affect their lives. We firmly believe that young people have the right to be heard and to effectively participate in these processes, both locally and internationally. Through this project, we will provide youth workers with the skills necessary to guide and motivate young people in these decision-making spaces, enhancing their ability to positively influence society.
