Objectives

The Social Circus Lab project aims to train 21 youth workers in the use of social circus as a key tool in non-formal education, youth empowerment and social inclusion. Through this training, we seek to improve the quality of youth work by providing innovative and dynamic methodologies that foster the personal and social development of young people, especially those in vulnerable situations. The starting point of Social Circus Lab is the need to provide youth workers with practical tools that help them connect with young people and generate spaces for active participation. Many of the organizations involved have identified the lack of methodologies that combine experiential learning, artistic expression and teamwork as a challenge in their daily work. This course responds to that need with a structured proposal based on social circus, a proven pedagogical approach that enhances creativity, cooperation and self-confidence. Throughout the training, participants will explore how circus arts can be used beyond the show, becoming a powerful educational resource. They will learn juggling, acrobatics, balance and aerial acrobatics techniques, always associated with specific pedagogical objectives such as overcoming fears, developing motor skills, building community and strengthening self-esteem. In addition to technical training the project aims to provide tools for the management and sustainability of social circus projects. Youth workers will receive specific training on how to design and scale projects in their communities, ensure their financial sustainability and create circus spaces accessible to all. The training will not only focus on the practice of circus, but also on how to structure programs with a lasting impact. Another of the fundamental axes of the project is the construction of an international network of youth workers specialized in social circus. During the training, the exchange of experiences and collaboration between participants will be encouraged, creating synergies that can be translated into joint projects in the future. The expected impact goes beyond the training course. Its aim is to transform the way social circus is perceived and implemented in the field of youth work, positioning it as an effective tool for non-formal education and community development.
