Objectives

The project aims to favour the meeting, the exchange of visions, practices, working methodologies and joint reflection on memory, cultural transmission and new generations; and it wants to do it through the analysis and debate on what lessons we can learn from the history of social and community theatre, from other geographies and other contexts outside and inside the European territory, and how we can reconcile this journey with the challenges posed by the current modernity even with its new ways and instruments of communication and transmission of values. All this with a view to rethink the direction that participatory arts should take, to investigate new techniques and new methods of disseminating the principles of community action, involving the new generations and incorporating their vision of 21st century communication... It is finally a matter of encouraging debate on the future of community theatre, on the objectives of transforming reality and not only reflecting it, and stimulating the will to carry out real actions, all together through creative and transformative artistic action. During the project activities, several social organisations working with different collectives, in different contexts, and with their own methodologies, will come together, reflecting the range of techniques and tools of community work, especially in relation to memory, cultural transmission, youth and new communications, which are being carried out in Europe, This is a guarantee of the diversity of points of view that will converge in the meetings, and underpins the need for exchange and sharing of experiences that is at the basis of the project, as was clearly reflected in the networking opportunities prior to the presentation of the project. Most of the participating organisations have extensive experience in community work, including pioneering actions in their field, which once again reflects the importance of these meetings. General Aim To favour the meeting of entities that work on cultural transmission, memory, youth and new forms of communication as a real social alternative to the current social and political dynamics, and that base their artistic activity on the axiom that community work is the basis for transformative action. Specific objectives: To share experiences, methodologies, fields of action, so that artistic work in favour of society becomes more and more effective and present. To offer tools and train the youngest workers on techniques and tools of cultural transmission in group and community work. To unify the techniques of community stage work and to favour the diffusion and exchange of good practices. Use art and collective creation practices to promote diversity and intercultural dialogue, positive tolerance and respect for the rights of all. To create a space for dialogue to develop critical and innovative thinking applicable in different European contexts, extrapolating principles, lessons and good practices from other contexts. To lay the foundations for future networks, collaborations, joint actions to make this work visible and to include it in the priorities of political and social agendas.
