The goal of the project is to increase young people's understanding of climate change and sustainable development while providing them with concrete tools to manage climate anxiety. Young people from Finland and Belgium have themselves identified the need to address these themes and to learn how rural youth in different countries experience climate change and how it is addressed in education and society. The project aims to provide young people with an experience of European identity, shared values, and to empower them to act as active members of their communities. This is supported by listening, hearing, and encouraging them. We offer young people tools that they build themselves and can use throughout their lives. The young participants have designed the content of the project. They have created the program and workshops, covering topics such as social and ecological sustainability, responsible agriculture, fisheries and forestry, and mental well-being. They have also emphasized the importance of intercultural understanding and wish to learn from each other about traditions, such as the right to roam (*Everyman’s right*) and responsible consumption. Young people are supported in implementing their own non-formal workshops around these topics. The aim is for young people to see the future as an opportunity rather than a threat and to be able to share the knowledge gained from the project within their own communities.
