Objectives

Through this project, the main objective was to identify best practices that could improve the inclusion and support of homeless people with a migration background. In particular, the aim was to better understand how other European countries address issues related to mental health, interculturality, fundamental rights, and the participation of supported individuals. The project also sought to enhance understanding of European migration policies, in order to better situate professional practices

Background

Local teams are facing increasingly complex situations within a changing national and European political and legal context. In response to these challenges, the Salvation Army Foundation sought to participate in a European initiative, aiming to reflect on its practices, draw inspiration from other intervention models, and strengthen professional reflection on unconditional acceptance. This mobility program facilitated meetings with Belgian stakeholders in the social sector.
