The « Autonomie : au-delà du handicap et des frontières » project aimed to strengthen the autonomy, social skills, and inclusion of workers with intellectual disabilities by taking them out of their usual environment. Through an innovative mobility experience (job shadowing, educational visits, and active logistical preparation), we sought to offer them an opportunity to adapt to new challenges, enhance their independence, and foster intercultural openness.
The ESAT de l’Arrageois, managed by the association La Vie Active, supports nearly 370 people with disabilities, the majority of whom have intellectual disabilities. This group often faces invisible barriers to social and mainstream professional inclusion due to invisible obstacles (fear of judgment, spatial disorientation, mobility). Beyond adapted professional activities, the ESAT provides social and educational support to promote their personal and social fulfillment.
