Objectives

The festival in Germany during summer 2023 was the sparking occasion for "Music for Interculturality": music and dances put different ethnic groups together, proving the great power of music in dissolving barriers. Following that festival, from November to December 2024, a survey on "The Voice of the Youth" was conducted with 50 participants from France, Germany, and Turkey. The most important points emerging from the survey were constraints such as lack of access to cultural and musical opportunities in Germany, financial issues in Turkey, and lack of youth-oriented cultural activities in France. The findings also underlined the potential role of music to enhance intercultural dialogue-61% said it was the medium through which they grew both as a person and in learning about other cultures. Based on this, the project developed a space to allow young people to meet and share their musical talents, building a cultural exchange. Project objectives: - To create an inclusive platform where youth from different cultural backgrounds can meet and learn from each other. - To provide them with opportunities to blend traditional and contemporary music as one way of retaining cultural heritage and exploring new forms of artistic expression. - To develop intercultural dialogue and break down stereotypes by means of workshops, performances, and community events. - Encourage teamwork, leadership, and creativity among participants, contributing to personal and professional growth. - Nurture the relationship between the participants and the Villenave-d'Ornon locals through various public performances and interactive sessions. - Enable the participants to become ambassadors for intercultural understanding in their respective communities by celebrating and preserving musical traditions.
