Women make up 52% of the European population, but only 34.4% of the self-employed and 30% of business start-ups. The 2023/24 report by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) shows an increase in female entrepreneurship, with the rate of business start-ups rising from 6.1% (2001-2005) to 10.4% (2021-2023). In France, 28% of women are involved in entrepreneurship. Despite this progress, women still face persistent obstacles: limited access to finance, lack of networks, gender discrimination, inequalities in family responsibilities, and so on. Yet female entrepreneurship is an important lever for economic growth, innovation and job creation. This Erasmus+ project aims to: - Raise awareness of the structural barriers that hinder women entrepreneurship, while promoting an inclusive and equal approach to entrepreneurship. - Create a space for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, good practices and ideas to promote a more equitable economic future and enhance the impact of women’s entrepreneurship. - Identify and maximise opportunities for entrepreneurship learning under the Erasmus+ programme. - Provide participants with information on funding opportunities for entrepreneurial projects in Europe. - Promote transnational mobility and establish a network of contacts between different EU organisations to increase employment opportunities for young people. By bringing together 32 young people, the project seeks to overcome stereotypes and promote a fairer economic future.
