Objectives

The VOLUN’TERRA project is based on a project proposed by the Terre & Humanisme association for more than 10 years: the "volon'terre" project, adding the European and intercultural dimension offered by European links with other committed structures (ZMAG in Croatia and BUNDJungend in Germany) and the opportunity of Erasmus + youth exchanges. The activity week of this project takes place in a territory, the south of Ardèche in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes where a lack of European projects around environmental education has been identified by the National Agency (NA France). The VOLUN’TERRA project thus offers a group of young participants an immersion in practical agroecology, applied to the nourishing garden, and a discovery of the rural environment which carries meaningful initiatives to contribute to the ecological transition. The main objective of VOLUN’TERRA is to give participants the keys to understanding the world through the “agroecology” angle as a systemic concept: connection to nature, ecological agriculture, sustainable food and the place of humans in the ecosystems. The underlying objectives are to promote living together and collective action, through the discovery and implementation of collective intelligence tools, group activities and joint workshops; and finally to stimulate the commitment and power of young people to act through awareness of ecological issues, local inspiration and exploration and peer exchange. The VOLUN’TERRA project offers a systemic and global vision of ecological and social issues through the prism of the connection to the land and collective life. Participants will leave with the keys and tools to act at their different scales in their respective countries and in their communities, in order to move towards greater resilience and active participation in building a sustainable and desirable future for all.
