Objectives

This project builds on the success of the "Viva Italia" youth exchange in Italy, which significantly boosted the motivation and engagement of young people, attracting new participants to Aix Nord. The second Erasmus+ project aims to enhance interculturality, youth participation (especially through Young Leaders), and inclusion by partnering with two European organizations working with rural youth. The project is a joint initiative between the three organizations, incorporating values of Popular Education and the active involvement of local social and cultural centers to engage young people directly. Objectives for participants: Autonomy, Empowerment and Responsibility: Encourage participants to actively engage in the preparation and planning of the activity, taking initiatives. Support and empower a core group of young leaders to take initiative (e.g preparing an activity) Cohesion and Collaboration: Promote teamwork and cooperation on both national and European scales, valuing the individual and collective skills of young people. Personal Development: Help young people overcome socio-psychological obstacles related to mobility, such as communication, language barriers, community living, cultural adaptation, and family separation. Intercultural Exchanges: Foster the sharing and learning of cultures from partner countries, develop intercultural skills, and discover the languages of the participants, as well as traditional recipes Experimentation and New Skills: Encourage participants to take initiatives, lead a free workshop; Prepare national traditional diners with one healthy and eco-friendly meal. Learning and professional development: Provide group leaders and young leaders with the opportunity to contribute to the overall project, share their skills, and grow in their learning process (free workshop facilitation, energiser preparation and facilitation) Critical thinking and open-mindedness: Encourage critical reflection on cultural stereotypes and stimulate curiosity for international mobility, while raising awareness of Erasmus+ programs and non-formal education. Ecological responsibility: Raise participants' awareness of the environment, natural resources, and the town of Arco de Valdevez. Encourage eco-responsible behavior and attitudes during the mobility, aligning with the host organization's site objectives, norms, and resource usage guidelines. Objectives for the participating organizations (Aix Nord, Vila Fonche and Bregal) : The project aims to promote cross-sector sharing of skills and professional knowledge, particularly in participatory socio-educational work and youth empowerment, building on the diverse expertise of each organization. It encourages the active involvement of local young people, youth centers, and community actors (residents, businesses, organizations), especially those with fewer opportunities, in order to foster their participation, autonomy, and capacity to take initiative. The project also seeks to strengthen long-term European partnerships in the youth field, support exchanges that can lead to ambitious future collaborations, and increase the visibility and scope of action of the organizations at both local and European levels. It further enables the renewal of professional practices (animation, support, project-based pedagogy), the dissemination of newly acquired knowledge within social structures and partner organizations, and the opportunity to benefit from the experience of organizations with strong expertise in intercultural exchanges and Erasmus+ project management. Finally, it contributes to improving the support provided to young people toward professionalization and to strengthening the recognition of their skills through a better understanding of Erasmus+ programs.
