This project is an intercultural and educational exchange between French and Spanish young people - young people with the fewest opportunities (JAMO), placed in child protection, from disadvantaged backgrounds or who have dropped out of school - with the aim of reinforcing their autonomy, critical thinking skills and ability to work as a team. These young people have chosen to work on contemporary issues such as food waste, the benefits of a healthy, balanced diet, and international solidarity. They are not just beneficiaries, but players in the project. The project offers a platform for active participation by young people, where group dynamics and individual involvement are essential. Through activities focusing on solidarity, the environment and food waste management, young people will develop a variety of skills such as communication, initiative and respect for cultural differences. The project is based on the desire of young people, who have been and will continue to be involved in every phase, from planning to evaluation. Every young person has a say, with a process where they can propose ideas, define objectives and participate in creating a program tailored to the needs of the group. The working sessions, which have been going on for over a year now, have remained regular, enabling the young people to express their views on aspects of the meeting, the activities on offer, and the construction of the overall project, such as the chosen theme or accommodation conditions. They have chosen to have separate living quarters for the two groups during the overnight stays. Evaluation sessions will be organized throughout the project, enabling the young people to take stock of their achievements and reflect on the impact of the project on their personal development.
