In an increasingly globalized and democratic world, structural problems persist, hampering social cohesion and mutual respect. Many young people feel misunderstood, frustrated and disconnected. Social pressure and/or expectations can lead to mental health problems such as depression, anxiety or isolation, and sometimes to dramatic situations. This project aims to offer young people a safe and inclusive environment in which to discover and develop the skills they need to become active and engaged citizens. The project focuses on key themes such as equality, diversity, inclusion and democracy, while tackling topics rarely addressed elsewhere, such as mental health, social inequalities, death, addictions and mental disorders. By tackling these subjects in an open and natural way, we help to break taboos and avoid the misinformation that surrounds essential social issues. This fights discrimination and violence, often fuelled by ignorance and lack of communication. By offering them the opportunity to explore complex and often sensitive subjects, we aim to help them prepare to play an active role in building a more just, inclusive and supportive society. We promote constructive, intercultural dialogue, valuing differences but also fostering a sense of belonging to a larger entity: Europe. Awareness of one's own privileges and limits is crucial to making a fair contribution to society. We believe that real social transformation can only happen when we recognize the structural inequalities and systemic oppression that affect so many people around us. By becoming aware of these injustices, young people can act more consciously, becoming agents of change. We offer young people a central role in designing the program. They can choose the themes to be addressed, decide on activities, manage budgets, organize collective meals and ensure that their own needs are taken into account within the group framework. This approach empowers them, reinforces their sense of belonging to a group and encourages them to become active citizens. In addition, the digital dimension and environmental responsibility are integrated into the project, to make young people aware of today's challenges and the need to adopt sustainable, environmentally-friendly practices. The project takes place on three levels: - Individual development: Young people will learn to better understand themselves, identify their emotions and express their needs in a healthy way. Using introspection tools and strategies to meet their needs, they will be able to differentiate their personal identities from actions and thoughts. - Creating healthy group dynamics: We'll encourage communication and constructive debate, even in the face of differing opinions. Young people will learn to respect each other's opinions, accept disagreements and resolve conflicts in a positive way. In-depth discussions, often on intimate subjects, will create strong bonds between participants. The diversity of their profiles (gender, origin, socio-economic background, level of education, etc.) will be an essential criterion in the selection of participants, in order to reflect the plurality of perspectives. Particular attention will be paid to the distinction between having an opinion and discriminating, with the aim of deconstructing patterns of oppression and fostering mutual respect. - Involvement in society: Armed with skills in communicating, welcoming diversity and challenging established norms, young people will be able to share their ideas and values creatively: through writing, art or oral expression. They will be able to pass on practical advice on how to approach these topics with greater understanding, both to their peers and to youth workers. This program will help them to better understand their place in a group, but also in society, and to express their ideas clearly and constructively. In addition, the practice of English will facilitate their integration into democratic debates on a European scale, and enable them to participate actively in social life. The project thus offers young people an opportunity to prepare themselves to become responsible and committed European citizens, by developing essential skills for participating in democratic life, and inspiring them to take action to build a society that is fairer, more inclusive and more respectful of differences.
