Objectives

The ‘Hack4change’ youth exchange project aims to achieve several key objectives by implementing an innovative and participative approach. By bringing together 40 young Mediterranean school drop-outs in Rabat-Salé, Morocco, with a particular focus on young people facing social, professional or educational difficulties, or those with cognitive or mental disabilities, for 6 days, we aim to create an environment conducive to learning and active engagement around the themes of digital technology and environmental protection. Participants will engage in a core hackathon action that will enable them to acquire essential digital skills while tackling environmental issues, including learning about time management, solving complex problems, and developing creativity. By working in teams, the young people will improve their ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds. The project also aims to equip participants with practical knowledge of digital tools, enabling them to better understand and use these technologies in their social and professional integration. By developing an in-depth understanding of environmental issues, young people will be better prepared to integrate sustainable practices into their daily lives and professional projects. By bringing together 8 partner organisations from the MedNC-IECD network, the project encourages exchanges between young people on the shores of the Mediterranean, enabling them to share their common challenges and learn from each other. Following on from the previous edition in Tunis, which highlighted innovative environmental practices, this new edition will focus on understanding environmental issues and developing concrete solutions. Like last year's event, we will also be offering them the chance to discover innovative and inspiring structures and projects, and this year we will be bringing in external speakers, professionals from the digital and environmental sectors who will mentor and support the young people in the development of innovative solutions. The specific objectives (SO) are SO1: To develop the technical, transversal and intercultural skills of 40 young Mediterranean NEETs, recognised by the Youth Pass, by encouraging them to work together in multicultural teams, in order to enhance their employability and their integration as Euro-Mediterranean citizens.
