This project responded to a simple but urgent observation: in a saturated and polarised media environment, youth workers lacked concrete tools to support young people in developing a critical relationship with information and geopolitical issues. The central objective was therefore to strengthen the competencies of these workers so that they could become genuine ambassadors of critical thinking within their organisations. This objective unfolded across several levels: In terms of knowledge, the aim was to acquire a solid understanding of contemporary geopolitics - conflicts in the Middle East, the war in Ukraine, European migration policies, tensions in the South China Sea ; in order to address these subjects with young people in an informed and contextualised way. In terms of skills, participants were expected to develop practical competencies in workshop facilitation: the use of serious games, structured debates, storytelling and media narrative analysis. The idea was to make complex subjects accessible and engaging, while helping young people distinguish reliable information from disinformation. In terms of attitudes, the project aimed to examine the cognitive biases and educational stances of each participant, as supporting young people in their reflection requires a conscious neutrality, far removed from any form of influence or propaganda. Beyond individual competencies, the project also pursued a collective objective: to promote the exchange of good practices between partner organisations through co-creation sessions, and to build a network of ambassadors capable of sustainably disseminating these learnings, both within their organisations and beyond, through local networks and community events. In summary, this project aimed for a two-tiered impact ; immediate for the trained workers, and lasting for the young people they support on a daily basis.
