Objectives

In response to declining participation in democratic spaces in Europe, this project aimed to strengthen the capacity of global citizenship education trainers to increase the impact of their activities with young people and promote civic engagement more effectively. The objective was to enable global citizenship education organisations in Europe to open up to new organisations, meet each other and develop synergies and cooperation projects, but also to discover new visions and new methods, thereby helping to strengthen the skills of trainers in global citizenship education by discovering new non-formal learning methods and broadening their understanding of major global issues. The objectives of the project were as follows: o To strengthen the skills of youth workers and volunteers involved in global citizenship education in Europe by discovering innovative practices. o To strengthen the knowledge of youth workers and trainers on citizenship-related issues such as combating discrimination, media literacy, environmental protection and the defence of human rights. o To develop more participatory and inclusive education methods to increase the involvement of young people and marginalised groups in global citizenship education projects. o Strengthen links between actors in global citizenship education in Europe.
