In the digital age, youth workers, educators and parents are struggling to find innovative tools that can engage young people and improve their sense of existence. Through this project, we want to combat the loneliness and isolation of young people that lead to risky behavior. Thus, we want to propose the practice of clowning as an emancipatory figure for young people. So what tools do we offer our young people to develop their identity in a world where we are assailed by stereotypical representations of what we should be (advertising, social networks, etc.)? The project aims to bring together a group of twenty-six youth workers and artists from all over Europe for a ten-day exchange, during which they will develop non-formal education tools using the art of clowning as a source of inspiration and encouragement for their audience. Participants will discover the many advantages of clowning through practice and times of collaborative reflection. The Clown provides access to joy, laughter, humor; it allows us to release social pressures and be resilient. Thus, it meets the need to free up speech around discomfort and promotes the recognition of emotions. What if we took into account the issue of emotional regulation to better understand and support identity construction in adolescence? Our general objective: to develop educational postures of explorers. To be curious and creative. This is a posture that we want to engage both for young people and for youth professionals. Reinvent and rethink our models of supporting young people to make relationships unique and experiences singular. For us, this is an opportunity to promote a sense of belonging by including the particularities of each person.
