Objectives

The project to develop sports practices for youth leaders in Al Amari and Stains aims to establish international exchanges between France and Palestine, specifically between the community of Stains and the Al Amari refugee camp, to enhance the sports practices of youth leaders in collaboration with the Fédération Sportive et Gymnique du Travail (FSGT). The youth leaders from the Al Amari refugee camp have expressed their need to strengthen their sports skills, particularly to improve the quality, innovation, and recognition of the sports and educational practices they implement for the youth in the camp, who are in a situation of extreme precarity. These identified needs align with the local policy priorities of the city of Stains and the FSGT. The city of Stains and the Palestinian refugee camp of Al Amari, located in the West Bank, have been twinned since November 1998. This cooperation has developed through exchanges between the two communities, including the reciprocal hosting of delegations and the organization of sports and cultural meetings. This project will mark the continuation and development of actions already implemented over the past twenty-seven years. Moreover, the FSGT has been working on sports projects in Palestine since 1981. This project will enable the federation to work on developing sports practices with a specific audience: Palestinian refugees. Indeed, implementing the development and exchange of adapted practices will enhance the skills of youth leaders, particularly through qualifying training. Furthermore, these international exchanges will promote initiative, active citizenship, and bonds of international solidarity between French and Palestinian youth leaders. In the longer term, these international exchanges will strengthen sports and educational practices for a population from a disadvantaged territory and will be beneficial for the youth of the Al Amari refugee camp.
