The aim of our project is to increase the civic participation of young people in the care of child welfare institutions, by involving them in actions that promote social cohesion in an isolated rural area. By conducting interviews with older people on key citizenship issues, they will address societal changes that have an impact on our citizenship, from an intergenerational perspective. Over the course of two events, these young people, who face multiple obstacles to active citizenship, will have the opportunity to be at the heart of a civic initiative recognised by political decision-makers, as well as by a large number of other young people. These young people, whose learning difficulties keep them even further away from the traditional, formal environment, will have the opportunity, throughout the project, to develop the skills, knowledge and interpersonal skills they need to integrate properly.
