The main objective of the project was to give five young people from Réunion, with fewer opportunities for mobility, the chance to experience their trip to Europe through the DiscoverEU Inclusion programme. Through this mobility, we wanted to promote their cultural openness, autonomy and self-confidence, while allowing them to discover the history, heritage and diversity of European cultures in a concrete way. The project also aimed to help them develop useful skills for their personal and professional paths: finding their way, managing a budget, using public transport, communicating in English, adapting to unexpected situations and living as a group. Beyond discovering several European cities, the objective was to help the young people broaden their horizons, strengthen their sense of European citizenship and feel confident about taking part in future mobility experiences.
