Through this project, we want to enable young people who have no experience of mobility, and whose ability to travel independently is limited, to carry out a European mobility experience in a group (from its conception to its realisation and its valorisation) on one of the following 3 main themes: Environment and sustainable development, Culture and heritage, and Sport. From then on, the young people will be able to select a theme and organise their mobility programme around it, with the help of PLMGO project manager during the whole process. The first component is preparation for departure for 10 groups of 5 young people: 3 groups for 10 days of the project, 4 for 15 days and 3 for 21 days, accompanied by a Youth Leader who will take part in the entire project. It is based on non formal education tools that PLM GO is familiar with and uses in preparing young people for departure on various projects, and covers a number of themes: interculturality, promotion of environmental values, European values and green mobility, as well as language skills, risk prevention and the use of digital tools for researching and planning the trip. The second component is support for planning the project to empower young people. This involves booking soft and green mobility routes and accommodation, carrying out administrative formalities and supervising preparatory meetings for project activities, as well as drawing up the budget. The third aspect is to support the young people in implementing the project before and during their mobility, as well as in promoting it (for example in the form of a podcast, video, exhibition, etc.), and then to ensure that they are followed up afterwards. The main objective is to help young people to set up a European mobility project on their own, using green mobility. Our project will enable young people to take part in the Discover EU programme in a safe and secure environment, and to develop greater cultural understanding, open-mindedness and a greater sense of solidarity with other nationalities. The project will also help young people to develop a wide range of soft skills and competences that they will be able to put to good use with a view to social and professional integration, in particular through the Youth Pass, but also in their personal lives.
