We want to implement this project because participants during our previous Youth Exchange (Youth for Human Rights) expressed a desire to learn more about empathy through experiential methods and to deepen their understanding of the topic. This is how the main idea for this new Exchange was born. The approach to the topic also came from the young participants themsel-ves, who enjoyed using various forms of art in the previous Exchange, especially dramatic ele-ments and theatrical methods. Through collective discussions, we decided that learning about empathy would be achieved through the method of storytelling, which in a way encompasses both literary art and acting elements. Additionally, teachers observed that young people are susceptible to negative stereotypes and lack critical thinking skills and empathy toward margi-nalized groups. Based on all of the above, we concluded the following: NEEDS 1. To educate young people about human emotions 2. To contribute to the development of emotional intelligence in young people 3. To increase awareness of discrimination and stereotypes among young people OUTCOMES 1. Develop a greater understanding of emotions and the ability to recognize emotions in young people, particularly primary emotions Participants will first get acquainted with emotions, learning how to recognize them as well as how to differentiate between basic emotions, which is crucial for developing empathy. This skill will be the foundation for better emotional management and the development of emotional intelligence. Furthermore, they will discuss the concept of empathy through brainstorming and group work. Through these methods, they will discover what they associate with empathy and how others perceive it. Awareness of their own and others' emotional states will help them bet-ter understand how emotions affect their behavior and interactions with others. 2. Develop empathy and strengthen the ability to view situations from different perspecti-ves To further develop the skill of empathy, participants will be encouraged to put themselves in others' shoes and try to see situations from another's perspective. This will be achieved through a series of activities, allowing participants to better understand the actions and emotions of others, especially in situations of conflict or misunderstanding. Additionally, this skill will e-nable them to collaborate more effectively with others, particularly with members of different groups, both in private and social life. 3. Strengthen the ability to recognize and critically reflect on biases and stereotypes, espe-cially in the media context Through the activities of this Exchange, participants will learn to recognize and analyze stereo-typical portrayals of marginalized groups in the media. This way, they will be able to think cri-tically about the information presented to them and recognize biases and manipulations in me-dia content, which will positively impact their media literacy.
