Objectives

The Inclusion Wheel project was designed to address the challenges of discrimination, social exclusion, and unequal participation faced by young people across participating countries. By implementing this project, we aimed to empower young people to better understand inclusion-related issues, develop essential social and civic competences, and take proactive roles in fostering more cohesive, tolerant, and respectful communities. To achieve this overall aim, we established three main objectives: 1. To build an inclusive learning space where participants can interact, connect, and reflect on inclusion issues. The project sought to create a safe, diverse, and supportive environment in which participants could openly share experiences related to exclusion, discrimination, cultural differences, and identity. Through non-formal education methods—including teambuilding, human library, drama, storytelling, and case studies—young people developed empathy, understanding, and stronger social bonds. This inclusive environment enabled participants to recognize their role in reducing exclusion and supporting others regardless of background or personal circumstances. 2. To equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to act for inclusion in their own communities. A central objective of the project was to strengthen participants’ competencies—such as critical thinking, communication, leadership, creativity, and civic engagement—so they could translate the learning into concrete action. During the mobility, participants deepened their understanding of social issues, explored examples of civic involvement, and developed their own ideas for local initiatives. Following the exchange, each national group implemented at least one educational or awareness-raising activity (workshop, seminar, school presentation, local action) to disseminate their learning and promote inclusion among peers in their communities. 3. To promote diversity and mutual respect among wider audiences through creative digital outputs. Another key objective was to engage participants in creating digital materials—motivational inclusion-themed videos—that communicated the project’s messages beyond the mobility group. These videos were disseminated on social media by participants and partners. Through this process, young people strengthened their digital literacy, teamwork, creativity, and ability to communicate social messages effectively.
