The aim of the project was to explore international museum dementia programmes, acquire new methodologies, and establish long-term professional collaborations. In addition, we sought to adapt the knowledge gained to the Hungarian context and to shape the mindset of museum professionals in order to provide more inclusive and sustainable services.
The Petőfi Literary Museum is part of the Hungarian National Museum Public Collection Centre. Alongside preserving and presenting Hungarian literary heritage, places strong emphasis on social responsibility and inclusive museum practices. The project was initiated to further develop the structure of our programmes for people living with dementia, and to achieve this, we sought to explore and learn from well-established international practices.
