Our project aimed to draw attention to gender inequality in sports, highlight structural and cultural barriers in this area, and raise awareness among a broad target audience, particularly young people. Through international cooperation under the Erasmus+ program, we aimed to convey to participants that gender equality in sports is not merely a sporting issue, but also a human rights issue with social, cultural, and economic dimensions. Our project aimed to achieve concrete gains in increasing women's participation in sports, empowering female athletes, and highlighting the importance of women's representation in sports management, coaching, and decision-making mechanisms. By bringing together best practices from different countries, we comparatively examined the current state of women's football development and enabled participants to critically evaluate inequalities in this area. Within the scope of the project, we aimed for young people to question gender stereotypes in sports, become aware of prejudices against female athletes, and contribute to the dissemination of an equality-based sports culture. At the same time, we aimed to support young women in increasing their self-confidence through sports, developing their leadership skills, and participating more actively in social life. We prioritized strengthening equal opportunities by facilitating youth participation in the project through accessible transportation options and inclusive activities. However, through our project, we aimed to provide participants with information about Erasmus+ and Youth Exchange programs, introduce Youthpass qualifications, and develop young people's personal, social, and professional skills. Supporting foreign language skills, cognitive competencies, and intercultural learning; encouraging participation in volunteer activities; and strengthening young people's awareness of active citizenship were also among the project's core objectives. In conclusion, by realizing our project, we aimed to create lasting awareness of gender equality in sports, to make young people active stakeholders in change in this field, and to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and equitable social structure by using the transformative power of sports.
