The XYZ – Over Generations project aims to foster dialogue and collaboration between generations, with particular attention to differences in digital skills and active social participation. To reduce the digital gap between different generations—Generations X, Y, and Z—we are preparing members of Generation Z to pass on their existing digital literacy to members of Generations X and Y. This will improve intergenerational cooperation, strengthen social cohesion, and make young people's social engagement more active. During the project, participants will have the opportunity to share their digital knowledge and experiences with each other while jointly developing their digital skills, especially in areas where intergenerational differences are most apparent. In addition, communication training sessions will enhance the program, with the goal of conveying information more effectively and in an appropriate manner so that older individuals do not find the help from younger people offensive or patronizing. The program emphasizes active social participation, during which participants learn how to use digital tools for the benefit of their communities and local society. The project helps participants actively engage in the life of their communities and use their digital tools more effectively to contribute to solving social problems, while strengthening mutual respect and understanding between generations. The program not only focuses on developing digital skills but also aims to achieve broader social and cultural impacts, such as promoting active citizenship and community values.
