“Future Frontiers: Youth Perspectives on Society and Change” is a youth exchange that will involve 28 young participants from Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia and it will address the topics of civic engagement and active participation in democratic life. In today's rapidly changing world, where international relationships constantly evolve both culturally and economically, is essential for young people to develop critical thinking skills to understand the global society and interpret the cultural and technological changes shaping their lives. Youth are called to play a crucial role in public debate, democracy, and civic life, by raising their voices, advocating for their needs, and taking action through social initiatives. This applies in particular to youth from rural areas and small cities because they have fewer opportunities to actively participate in civic life and democratic processes, than those living in the big centers. Simply, because they are more isolated from community events and information. Hence it is important to create opportunities for them where they can reflect on their own contexts/backgrounds, while finding out about global trends and EU priorities, these being tools for them to make informed decisions. “Future Frontiers” aims to empower young people and support their participation in democratic life and civic engagement, with a particular focus on youth coming from rural and geographically isolated areas. More specifically, the project has these specific objectives: -Empower young people from rural areas and small cities by providing them with opportunities to actively engage in civic life and democratic processes, overcoming barriers of isolation from community events and information. Our project will pursue this objective by fostering multilingualism, international communication, teamwork, and a problem-solving attitude. - Contribute to the revitalization of democratic life in youth and foster youth participation and civic engagement. The project provides participants with the tools to actively engage in contemporary debates, focusing on highly relevant global trends and events such as the use and risks of AI in education and work, as well as the impact of social media on daily life and public opinion, including the spread of fake news. - Provide an enriching and enjoyable non-formal learning experience that enhances peer learning, international connection, communication skills, and critical thinking. Participants will not only gain valuable insights but also enjoy the experience, sharing meaningful and enjoyable moments with their peers. Through discussions and exchanges of ideas with their peers, they will develop a more critical perspective on contemporary society, enriching their understanding through diverse viewpoints.
