Objectives

We hope to achieve digital education advancements for participants through engaging with colleagues online and learning and developing presentation design and delivery skills, as well as transnational learning through job shadowing, potentially leading to new developments in work practices based on this new learning. This project would also be a motivator for staff on the front line who very seldom have the opportunity to travel for work and learn from peers in other dementia care homes.

Background

St Joseph's is the largest home in Ireland, solely dedicated to dementia care. In order to continue to be a place of excellence in dementia care, we would like to participate in this mobility project, sot that we can learn from other centres of best practice, share our learning with them and develop new practices as a result of transnational exchange. We have hosted visitors from Iceland and seen the impact that their to us has had. We hope that similar results would arise from our own visit.
