Objectives

The project aimed to strengthen the quality, inclusiveness and impact of youth work through an integrated combination of two Youth Exchanges and three Training Courses, involving 106 participants, in line with European priorities related to social inclusion, environmental sustainability, active participation and well-being. Through the “We Are Root” Youth Exchange, the objective was to raise young people’s awareness of the interconnection between social and environmental justice, supporting them in reflecting on their role in society and motivating them to take action at local level. The activity also explored the emotional dimension of climate activism, helping participants understand what drives people to act and how this motivation can be translated into concrete initiatives within their communities The “Inclusive Threads” Training Course aimed to strengthen youth workers’ competences in promoting inclusion, equity and active participation. In particular, it increased their awareness of privilege and discrimination dynamics, while providing practical tools for creating safe and welcoming environments and adopting inclusive practices in their local contexts. The “Future Builders” Training Course aimed to provide youth workers with tools and knowledge to support young people in developing social entrepreneurship initiatives, while strengthening transversal competences such as leadership, creativity and teamwork. A further objective was to foster strong international relationships through collaborative work and the simulation of a social enterprise. The “Mentoring Through Creativity” Training Course aimed to develop creative mentoring competences, enabling participants to experiment with creative approaches to support young people’s personal growth and emotional expression. The programme also strengthened youth workers’ ability to create safe, inclusive and intercultural spaces, while promoting peer learning, non-violent communication and reflection on their own educational and facilitation styles. Finally, the “EMBODY” Youth Exchange promoted well-being, self-awareness and peer connection by providing a safe and inclusive space based on empathy, presence and personal expression. Its objective was to support participants in developing competences related to mental and physical health, while fostering intercultural dialogue and appreciation of diversity.
