Inclusion of marginalised young peoplePhysical and mental health, well-being

Objectives

The project aimed to address the pressing and often overlooked issue of mental health among young people. Mental health is a key component of overall well-being and directly affects individuals' ability to actively participate in social, educational, and professional life. However, stigma, social isolation, and limited access to support services often prevent young people from receiving the help they need. Through this youth exchange, we created a safe and inclusive space where 30 young participants from Italy, Germany, Poland, Romania, and Lithuania could explore mental health issues together, develop resilience, and acquire emotional, social, and relational skills. The specific objectives of the project we achieved were: - Create an intercultural space where young people could share experiences and openly discuss the topic of mental health. - Promote awareness of the link between mental health and social exclusion, reducing stigma and encouraging empathy. - Develop participants' emotional, social, and relational skills through participatory and experiential activities. - Strengthen inclusion and social cohesion by encouraging the building of resilient and supportive youth communities. - Raise awareness among local communities about the importance of mental well-being, using outreach activities and intercultural dialogue as tools for impact. Through non-formal education methods, the project encouraged young people to recognize and manage emotions, improve their self-esteem, and actively contribute to more inclusive societies.
