Objectives

One of the most important problems for the historical and political situation in Europe is certainly immigration from non-EU countries. This is increasingly demonstrated by the presence of this subject in political debates and is often an essential element in electoral campaigns, whatever the political party is. The instrumentalization of migration is particularly unpleasant, especially when it is based on fake news or superficial reasoning. Not only that. Being a complex phenomenon, made also of enormous suffering and difficulties in the very journey of migrants, it seemed essential to try to reflect on it at international level. The aim of our youth exchange is to give the opportunity for youth from different backgrounds to learn and experience different methods of non-formal education in order to empower them to be aware and spread human rights, to better understand the phenomenon of migration, so as to provide tools for reflection and critical awareness, and encourage developing various skills and attitudes needed in their personal and professional development. The objectives of the youth exchange are: - to help young people from different background to develop soft skills and other skills that are basic and necessary for communication and understanding each other; - to promote solidarity, empathy and tolerance and to foster intercultural understanding between people of different origins; - to enhance the knowledge and the importance of human rights and democracy in youngsters; - to enhance the knowledge about migration, the choices at the base and the difficulties that affect their path; -to come closer to these topics with the use of educational escape boxes, that makes the whole process very interactive and learning through playing; - to develop critical thinking in order to distinguish fake news from those proven by facts and to develop one’s own awareness of this topic; - to equip youngsters with knowledge and tools about creative thinking, public speaking and teamwork through non-formal methods of education; - to empower young people to actively participate in youth projects, to volunteer and to pursue development of a self; - to raise youngsters’ European awareness, promote European values and get youngsters more sensitive towards the geopolitical situation; - to create space for sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas with the atmosphere of common understanding between peers representing different cultures and backgrounds; - to promote the Youthpass as a tool for the recognition of non-formal projects. We believe that the aims and objectives of this project are in direct correlation with the objectives of Erasmus+ and KA1.
