Objectives

Our project was born from the need to address a series of issues that young people from different geographical backgrounds have in common, but with similar challenges related to social inclusion, educational poverty and lack of opportunities in the scientific and technological field. Through its implementation we want to achieve several important objectives, including: - Promoting skills and access to STEM: Through practical and interactive activities related to astronomy and science, the project aims to make scientific and technological disciplines accessible to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, stimulating their curiosity and offering them new educational and work perspectives. The Astronomical Planetarium of Anzi will guarantee the project a concrete application of all these disciplines through science by studying the stars and planets; through technology by using advanced software, thus respecting one of the basic principles of Erasmus+ which is digital transformation. - Promote mobility, foster social inclusion and intercultural exchange: The project aims to be a gateway for many young people to international exchange opportunities, breaking down the economic and cultural barriers that often prevent them from participating in these initiatives. Through this project, participants will have the opportunity to live a mobility and exchange experience, broadening their horizons and building intercultural relationships. The project aims to create an inclusive learning environment where young people from different cultures and backgrounds can collaborate, exchange ideas and work together on scientific projects. Intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding will be at the heart of the project, strengthening social cohesion and breaking down cultural barriers. This project represents a unique opportunity to promote the participation of students from disadvantaged backgrounds and foster their intercultural dialogue through collaborative programs. - Develop transversal and active citizenship skills: The project aims to integrate STEM skills with the development of transversal skills such as critical thinking, communication, teamwork and problem solving. This project will develop activities that combine science, technology, engineering and mathematics with social and cultural skills. Active citizenship will also be encouraged by raising awareness among young people on environmental sustainability, gender equality and inclusion. The project will adopt clearly defined and structured non-formal learning methods, such as practical workshops, simulations, educational games and peer-to-peer activities. These methodologies will be closely linked to the learning objectives and enriched through the use of digital technologies and online resources to ensure inclusive and interactive learning. Our project will contribute to fostering youth work through a series of actions aimed at improving young people's skills, opportunities and employability. Firstly, during this experience they will develop key, technical and transversal skills, acquire intercultural skills and greater open-mindedness, which are essential in the global job market. Young people will have access to an international opportunity by enriching their CVs and strengthening their professional network. This STEM project will contribute to bridging the gap between young people’s skills and the demands of the labour market. Participants will connect with institutions and organisations that can offer new professional opportunities in the future. Furthermore, by promoting social inclusion, even young people with fewer opportunities will have access to an educational and professional experience that would otherwise be inaccessible, encouraging autonomy and self-confidence, making them better prepared to enter the world of work. Through the implementation of this project we want to prepare strong and confident young people to face an increasingly complex and competitive labour market, increasing their chances of personal and professional success. The impact of the project will be monitored and evaluated through pre- and post-project questionnaires, case studies and regular feedback sessions to ensure that the objectives are effectively achieved. Sustainability will be promoted through the creation of a network of former participants and partner organisations, who will continue to disseminate the acquired skills and develop further educational initiatives based on the ASTERI model. Furthermore, digital teaching materials will be produced and made available online to a wide audience.
